RELAX & CURATIVE
TOURS |
|
The
Dead Sea is famed to be bliss for Treatments &
Beauty. There are many specialized centers,
several Spas & Hotels catering for the
rejuvenation and wellbeing for old and young.
Although called "Dead", this Sea, in particular
and the whole region on its shore is very much
alive. |
|
The
Dead Sea lies about 408 kms below sea level at
the lowest point on the earth's surface, and it
is a part of the Syrian - East Africa Rift
Valley, flanked by Palestine Mountains to the
west and the Moab Mountains to the east. |
|
In
ancient past, Dead Sea water and salt were
imported to Italy by Roman aristocracy. The
bituminous pitch rising on lake's surface was
used for several industrial and medicinal
purposes. Local oasis plants, especially the
Balsam Tree, produced valuable and highly
quality cosmetics, perfumes and medicinal
substances. Wars were fought for their
possession, as when Mark Anthony conquered the
Dead Sea area for Cleopatra. |
|
The
Dead Sea is one of the most briny lakes in the
world. It is fed mainly by River Jordan in the
north and by perennial springs and streams from
the east and west. Due to do not have any
opening, the Dead Sea is a "closed lake", in
being so it loses huge amounts of water by
evaporation into the hot dry air. This result in
high concentration of salts and minerals in a
unique composition that is particularly rich in
chloride salts of magnesium, sodium, potassium,
calcium, bromine and others. Not less remarkable
is the natural phenomenon occurring there: an
additional layer caused by the evaporation's
high rate in the atmosphere filters out the
harmful sun rays creating a favorable UVA/UVB
ratio.
|
|
The natural
healing power of the Dead Sea is utilized to
treat skin diseases & joint disorders,
anti-stress therapy, relaxation, fitness &
beauty programs. |
|
Specialized
Centers, Spa Hotels, are featured with
dermatological & rheumatologic treatments, body
massage, mud packs, ultrasound therapy, galvanic
therapy, microwave therapy, cryotherapy &
hydrotherapy. The Center has a fitness Room,
indoor pool & multipurpose pool for treatment of
skin diseases & joint disorders. A natural
solarium is located beside the clinic directly
at the Dead Sea shore, separated for men &
